Mba Ekpezu Ukweni, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has alleged that the Federal Government (FG) of Nigeria paid heavy ransom before the abducted Dapchi girls were released. Speaking with DAILY POST on phone on Thursday, the SAN regretted that FG was very economical with the truth over the release of the abducted girls. He alleged that ransom collected from the FG was what the Boko Haram used in buying sophisticated arms used in threatening and kidnapping more people. “Many people in the present government are behind Boko Haram. Reno Omokri, has asked General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Enoch Adeboye, to direct Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to stop attacking former President Jonathan. The former presidential aide said this in reaction to Osinbajo’s remarks at the 7th Presidential Quarterly Business Forum for private sector stakeholders at the State House conference centre. Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has written President Muhammadu Buhari over insecurity and other burning issues in the country. The cleric said the current government was sleeping while those that voted them into power were dying of hunger. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Nkeiruka Ngwu, female, 36 years old of 47 Ogundana Street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, a mother of four children, for physically abusing her ten- year -old househelp by name Chioma Samuel whom she brought to Lagos from Umuoju, Ngwu in Abia State sometime in January 2018 after the death of the girl's father. A statement by the command's spokesperson, SP Chike Oti, says Nkeiruka Ngwu has made life a living hell for the child. Chioma has been mentally and physically abused with many injury marks to show for it. Her latest tale of woes was recorded on Wednesday 7th of March, 2018 when the suspect allegedly used a well heated clothes iron to cause grievous injury on the victim's hands and legs. Cardinal Keith O’Brien, former head of Roman Catholic Church in Britain, is dead. The Cardinal died at the age of 80. O’Brien who resigned as Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh in 2013 after apologising for sexual misconduct died after he was hurt in a recent fall. BBC reported A critic of gay marriage, O’Brien resigned in 2013 after three priests and one former priest complained about incidents of sexual misconduct dating back to the 1980s. Talk about JAMB wahala, A female JAMB candidate in the ongoing  Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME,    has  reportedly committed suicide in Ekiugbo-Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.   Naija  News  learnt. The university admission-seeker simply identified as Loveth took her life after she got details of her  scores in the UTME  examination. Loveth, who was said to be displeased with the 163 marks she garnered in the examination was found dead at her home in the early hours of the day. According to report gathered,the deceased, who picked Medicine as her choice of study was said to have ingested three bottles of Sniper, a chemical used for fumigation, and the empty bottles were found by her lifeless body.

A source said the attackers numbered  "about 500"  and burnt down 20 houses while an eyewitness claimed they were dressed in military fatigue and wielded AK-47 assault rifles. The state's Deputy Commissioner of Police,  Monday Bala , confirmed the attack during a press conference on Thursday, March 15, and reported that police officers and other security operatives have been deployed to the area to restore order.
